BIOGRAPHY

Brad McCombs has more than 25 years of experience as an exhibiting artist in regional, national, and international venues. He currently serves as Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and Associate Professor of Art and Design in the School of the Arts at Northern Kentucky University, where he fosters a positive, collaborative and creative culture for faculty, staff and students.

His art practice focuses on constructing dynamic environments and worlds that form powerful connections with audiences, whether physical, virtual, or somewhere in between. As a conceptual and interdisciplinary artist, McCombs pushes the creative use of both low and high tech elements to develop projects that provoke thought and actively engage the public. His work reflects a high level of attention to detail and craftsmanship, with careful consideration of materials in the creation of sculptures and installations.

McCombs’s role as an artist is expansive and draws from activism, anthropology, ecology, sociology, and technology. Working across a wide range of materials and media, he brings conceptually driven works to full realization by weaving cross cultural and interdisciplinary influences into immersive experiences.
